Karen Lacy
Karen Lacy grew up in Delaware and lived in New York City for 21 years, working as a professional dancer, teacher, and choreographer, now based in the Philadelphia area. Some of her dance credits include the Metropolitan Opera Ballet, New York City Opera, Neville Dance Theatre, and John Passafiume Dancers. Her choreography credits include La Traviata, Once Upon a Mattress, Romance Romance, The Big One, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Clue: The Musical, Chess, and countless children’s dance recitals. She worked as a teaching artist in the NYC public schools for 24 years with American Ballet Theatre, and is an ABT certified teacher. She taught for 20 years at the School of Garden State Ballet and 10 years at Manhattan Youth Ballet in NYC, where she still guest teaches each summer. Karen teaches at other studios in the area and worked for 28 years at Gaynor Minden as Senior Pointe Shoe Fitter and Dance Teacher Liaison.
