Recital Tickets on sale now through SATURDAY, JUNE 1st at 10 AM. Unlike our Holiday Show performance, our end of the year recital, "We Will Rock You", will have reserved seating. Children 2 and under (sitting on an adults lap) are free. There is wheelchair accessible seats (see seating chart online). You will be able to purchase tickets online beginning now through Saturday, June 1st at 10 AM. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door on Saturday, June 2nd AND Saturday, June 8th for $15 each, cash or check only. HOWEVER, if a performance sells out, there may not be tickets left to sell at the door. We will keep you updated.
We are excited to announce that the ABDA end of the year recital performance will take place at Malvern Prep’s Duffy Arts Center Theatre on Saturday, June 9th with a dress rehearsal on Sunday, June 3rd. Preparations are now underway, and we need to know who will be participating.
Please complete and sign the 2018 ABDA Recital Permission Form below. Let us know exactly which classes you are participating in. Submit your Permission Form and Costume Deposits by Saturday, November 18th.
When & Where
The ABDA end of the year recital will take place at Malvern Prep’s Duffy Arts Center Theatre on Saturday, June 9th. There will be a performance at 1pm and 5:00pm. Dancers will only be performing in one of these performances (Company Dancers will perform in both performances). Dancers will rehearse on stage on Sunday June 3rd OR possibly before their performance on June 9th. More detailed info will be available in March.
- $55-$75 per costume for all Predance, Ballet/Tap Level 1, 2, 3; Jazz 1, 2, 3 Classes.
- $65-$85 per costume for all Beg/Int, Int, Int/Adv and Adv Classes.
Costume Deposits: A $40 deposit per costume is due by Saturday, November 18th (along with the 2nd Quarter Tuition payment). Costume balances are due by January 29th (along with the 3rd Quarter Tuition payment). Dancers will be measured in December during their regular class time. All recital costumes will be ordered in late December.
Discounts & Number of Costumes: Students who are taking multiple classes (e.g. three or four ballet classes, and/or two jazz, and/or a tap, etc.) may need to talk to the studio to determine the number of costumes needed. Costume companies sometimes offer discounts for early orders and payment. We have already included these discounts in the amounts listed. Costume deposits received after November 18th and costume balances after January 29th may be assessed an additional fee to cover the loss of these discounts. We try our best to keep the costs as low as possible.
Rented Costumes: Occasionally the studio rents costumes to classes (for $35) instead of having the students buy their own (for $55-$85). We will notify you if this applies to your class.
Recital Performance Fee
This fee of $50 per dancer is due April 9th (along with the 4th Quarter Tuition) and helps defray the expenses involved with the recital production; including but not limited to, theatre rental, lighting and sound design and technicians, program and ticket printing, dress rehearsal, insurance, stage crew, security and clean up. Costumes, shoes, tights, and make-up are the responsibility of the dancer. Tickets will be available for purchase at $15 per ticket.
Predance and Ballet/Tap 1, 2, 3: These classes will present either a tap or a ballet dance in the recital but not both. They will only need one costume. Although we try to alternate from year to year, there may be years where the students do the same style twice in a row.
Pointe Students: Students only perform pointe in the recital if they have reached a certain level of proficiency. Please include this class on your list on the permission form, but know if may need to be adjusted.
Leaps & Turns and Company classes: These classes will NOT perform a recital routine. Do not include them on the list on your permission form.
